i wish someone could confirm, i dont trust media reports, but i doubt the La Times would want to say he signed a LOI according to sources and then have egg on
it's face. that would be great though. Sidney was impressive last night.

USC lands point guard Lamont Jones The Oak Hill Academy star signs a letter of intent. By Chris Foster 2:57 PM PDT, April 19, 2009 Lamont Jones of Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill Academy signed a letter of intent today to play for USC, making the Trojans' point guard position stronger, according to a source familiar with the program. The 6-foot Jones is expected to absorb a large chunk of the playing time, a hole that opened when junior Daniel Hackett decided to declare for the NBA draft. Hackett averaged 37 minutes a game last season. The Trojans also have Mike Gerrity, a transfer who won't be eligible until the end of December, at point guard. Jones, though inexperienced, gives USC a skilled player at that position. He was ranked the 11th best point guard nationally by Rivals.com. Mamadou is going to Europe to play next year... USC will lose two players off its current roster, as center Mamadou Diarra is expected to turn pro and play in Europe and guard Donte Smith is expected to transfer. chris.foster@latimes.com full |

This is a great get if true, lets wait for confirmation from Sleuth before we go crazy. LA Times also said he was announcing on Friday, so their source might
be wrong again. Floyd should have gotten MoMo - he has been recruiting him for a year. Arizona and the other schools competing for his signature have been on
him for weeks. MoMo also comes with concerns - 2 de-commitment and he has attended three high-schools.

to play at USC from the New York area was Gus Williams who didn't turn out too bad. We will field a good basketball team next season. Fight On!

I agree this is a HUGE get - I don't know if MoMo is a true PG, but he will definitely put up points for this team and get into the lane. There was nothing
negative about my previous post. Just facts. .

call me crazy, but if Hackett returns, we might not get him. I think at this point, with Demar leaving, and probably Taj, that I'd trade the last year with
Daniel to get MoMo for 4 years. plus, we now have some guys that cant shoot from outside, Dwight, MoMo, Noel, and Gerrity.

You are right - my bad. Not a whole year. The first update I read on Jones and USC was October 23, 2008. Either way, USC has been on way longer than Arizona or
Florida.

It will be interesting to see who will be the back-up PG in the pre-season. . . Lil Romeo? Ryan Wetherell? Or will MoMo be an iron man right out of the gate?

i am assuming that there are no confirmations from other media sources are because MoMo will probably have a press conference tomorrow and USC wants to let him
have his day. I feel alot better though with Erik confirming.

Saw momo play in the game against findlay. He's a solid player but still about a year away from making a serious impact. This season will be Gerrity's.
He's proven himself against great teams and has the experience we need right now. Momo will play behind Gerrity
