While nothing has been said officially by anyone on the record, what I have been hearing from sources is that while Davon is nowhere near ready for the
league, he is expected to likely leave. The follow up comment to him leaving is that Leonard is expected to be here in the fall and would be an excellent
replacement for Davon.
Anyone else hearing similiar reports???
Too bad Davon is not as bright as he is athletic. The guy clearly has HUGE potential. He is an amazing athlete, with limited undersatnding of fundamentals
& team basketball at this point. Davon seems to be just learning the fundamentals of team offense (passing & screening). His defense is definitely
another major work in progress. Seems to me that his success this year was all based on pure athleticism. With another year of coaching and learning, I think
he could definitely be a mid-first round pick. I know Davon is not fond of school work and is anxious to make a $$$, but he is really hurting himself by
coming out this year. He will still get drafted this year, but he will not get top $$$. On top of that, I don't see this guy as being an NBA impact
player for awhile. He has much to learn before cracking an NBA lineup.
In any case, hats of to Taj for being intelligent enough to realize the benefit of coming back one more year. With another 10 - 15 lbs of strength on his body
and hopefully a more expanded offensive game next year, Taj can be a solid 1st round pick in a year.
Fight On!!!
