You couldn't watch this kid play and not see that he was all heart. Every loose ball, every challenge, every opportunity, he was right there. One hundred percent.
It is rare to find people that have that passion, drive and desire. He was all heart. Add to that the fact that he was such a fine young man. Humble. Respectful. He carried himslef like a man, like you'd want your son to carry himself. You just don't see it these days. He was a rare gift. He was our gift. I'm glad we had him with us, even for this short while. He will be missed by us all. Peace. |

It was an honor to watch Ryan play this year. His passion and dedication played a large part in our team's successful season. The Trojan family lost a very special person. We will never forget you Mr. Francis.

What a terrible tragedy for this young man's friends and family. He was just one of those young men who made it very easy to wish him the best on the basketball court and in his life. This is a very sad day.

So sad to hear of the tragic death of Ryan Francis.
From the fan's perspective, he was a joy to watch - always giving 110% no matter what the score or what the circumstance. While I only was able to meet him one time, he was very cordial to me and my daughters. When I spoke with the coach's about him, what struck me most was that they always started out by saying what a great kid he was first, then they would talk about his game. My condolances to Ryan's family and friends - we in the Trojan family have you in our prayers. Ryan will be missed on and off the court. |

I think the best thing you can say about Ryan Francis is that his teammates really liked him. I never met Ryan, but I have been on teams before, and generally when a guy is so universally liked, there's a reason for that. I'm proud to call Ryan Francis a Trojan. May his family eventually find some peace.

We're all heartbroken and crushed. What an addition to the Trojan family Ryan was. A first class gentleman both on and off the court. He was small in stature but you could see that he had the big picture and he played HUGE. How about that play to ice the UCLA win ?!
This hurts very badly. Thank you and goodbye Trojan Ryan, you will NEVER be forgotten. A sellout crowd at Galen in 7 months will stand, and very emotionally, salute you. You will be welcomed by many a great Trojan in the sky as well. Fight On forever and ever Ryan , Your Trojan fans and your eternal USC family |
