A couple tough games - ASU (12-1) @ Cal (12-2) - Looks to be a really close game. ASU is ranked 17 and Cal is not but they are a much better team than their
rankings. For what it's worth Cal's RPI and SoS is (22/65) Cal's is (20/87). If this were after Monday when the kids were all back I would say
Cal has a 2 point advantage. It's not but I think many of the kids should be back so there might be more kids in Berkely for this game than most think.
Cal rebounds better but ASU shoots slightly better. Cal has a slight advantage in rebounds and they are pretty much a wash in taking care of the ball (ASU 2
more steals per game but also 2 more TO's per game as well). FT's are close, Cal gets to the line more but ASU shoots a better percentage. - My guess
is that the kids coming back from the Holiday are going to be looking for something to do and they show up at the Haas Pavillion. Vegas line is ASU -2 (I go
against it, Cal by 4).
Arizona (9-4) @ Stanford (10-1) - Vegas is calling for the Trees by 4. Arizona has Hill and Budinger, they've lost 3 on the road (UNLV, Texas A&M and Cal, all pretty good teams). If the kids show up to cheer, I agree with Vegas. Here's the kicker; there's always a game that makes a difference in a season. This may be the game. Stanford got smoked by a good ASU team I think they fill the stadium with a rockuss crowd. But as some have said on this board, this is a must win for Arizona and they need to get over the coaching drama that they've had. Big road upset by Arizona in OT. I could be out in space on this one; here's a more informed article by a local guy (http://blogs.mercurynews....nta-clara-hoops-and-more)
Both UCLA and USC take care of business.
