yes, davon is a really talented offensive player who is an incredible athlete. but that's not what
tim floyd's system needs. we need guys that can play within the offense, big men who can rebound, and most importantly EVERYONE needs to play
defense.
anyone else remember the oregon game? our D was awful essentially because davon gave ZERO effort on the defensive end. only when davon got benched did we turn that game around. i couldnt have been the only one who was curious to see if davon was going to start the following saturday against oregon state.
i dont know if he'll ever become a good defender. i saw very little defensive effort over the entire season from him.
i wish him nothing but the best of success. but truth be told, getting taj to come back is 100x more important than whether davon had stayed.
