Shouldn't Hire Agent | #1
|
Unless he is having academic difficulties, there is no way he should hire an agent.
Can't see Davon being a first round pick. He could benefit from another year - working (alot) on his jumper and his rebounding and how to play good defense and stay out of foul trouble. Plus, where is he going to play - the 3? Doesn't shoot well enough. The 4? - Not tall enough or physical enough. I wish him well, but can't see this as good move for him. |

Good luck in the NBA Davon! Would've been nice to him play for USC for one more year, he for sure could've used it.

Have fun in the D-League Davon. Until you learn to play team ball (ie passing, screening, moving away from the ball) you will not be able to hang in the
league. Raw athleticism alone will not cut it at the next level. Just ask the 1000s of other kids who have never cut it. Trep is a great example. You can
have all the hops and athletic skills, but that means nothing in the league. One more thing, you might want to learn how to play defense if you want to see
the court in the Association.
Sorry I am bitter about this, but this is just a totally uneducated & misinformed decision on the part of an immature 21 year old freshmen. DJ has so much potenital and could really use another year or 2 of coaching & experience at the D1 level. Hopefully you prove me wrong Davon, but I think you have really made a mistake. Dissappointing, but not surprising!!! Bring on Leonard!!! Fight On!!! |

Your opinion on Jefferson is extremely accurate. Davon should have taken advantage of a great situation for himself at USC but instead will end up in a
developmental league and eventually playing overseas if he is fortunate enough. He should have further developed his skills under Floyd, enjoyed college life
and college basketball where he would be an important piece to a team.

This is an all time moronic move - signing with an agent? Not only is he going in the 2nd round and straight to the D League - but what if he gets hurt?

Not the best choice but he's part of the family.

Declaring for the draft is one thing but signing (if true) w/an agent? Can only wish him well.

I’m genuinely worried for him. | #8

I have a bad feeling for him. I feel bad that he's going to end up in the D-league, but this could end up much worse than even that. He doesn't have the right support structure around him right now. Most of those people around him will be gone when he's making 12K a year in the d-league, but where will that leave him? He has so much talent and he's making all of the wrong decisions. One day he's going to look back and really regret this and I really feel bad for him. "Salaries in the development league range from $12,000 to $24,000 a season, paid in part by money from the NBA. Due to such modest salaries, some Idaho
Stampede players share an apartment in Boise. Jermaine Blackburn and Ronell Taylor's three-bedroom apartment is a testament to lives spent on the move. The
white walls are completely bare. The focal point of the room is a huge television set where they spend most of their down time playing video basketball games.
The team covers apartment rent and utilities. Blackburn and Taylor pay for their groceries and the monthly $40 charge for leasing a washer and dryer. Taylor, a
24-year-old guard from Alabama, says they split all costs down the middle."

The biggest mistake of his life! straight to the D-League for u Davon. Undersized, ok jump shot, no bball I.Q. and absolutely no DEFENSE. He needs all 3 years
with TF. The Gibson news put me in a good mood, but this *$$! makes me wanna throw-up. Doesn't he freaking understand hes not a first rounder. IF he waited
he would have doubled or tripled his money in a year! absolutely crap! what a waste of talent.

I'm sorry, I wish Davon well, but now that I've slept on this, I find it almost comical. Does this guy hate school that much? First round contracts
are guaranteed - and I'd guess he needs at least another year for that.
