@LamNLe ohhh ok ok yeah thx man I'm coming to sc n we going win the PAC 10 again about 15 hours ago from TwitterFon in reply to LamNLe So it sounds
definite. Plus he says we're going to win the PAC 10 again. I like his spirit. When will the school announce it? Is there any problem with him qualifying?
I'm looking forward to adding him to the roster.

pattioftroy wrote: USC never announced the signing of MoMo or Evan Smith - I doubt they announce this anything and he would only sign a scholarship agreement. At this point I'll take any player to fill out the roster, but one has to wonder why Landry hasn't been recruited or signed with anyone so far. I don't believe for a second that UConn or Arizona are considering him.

....from UCLA and several others as a late developer. See below...Apparently you didnt know tha but you seem to already have formed your opinion of him.
From Rivals:
*6'6" Post Grad, Guy Landry Edi of Stoneridge Prep - Does whatever he wants out there. Can score anytime he chooses, great driver and shooter. From Slam-Online: Guy Landry-Edi, 6-7 combo forward, Van Nuys (CA), 2009: The diesel Frenchman isn't a straight 3 or strictly a power forward (he's also probably closer to 6-5), but his combination of athleticism, hustle, intensity and versatile (if unpolished) offensive skills makes him a hot commodity. "Tracy McGrady Award (the player who's stock rose the highest in camp)- Guy Landry-Edi- 6-7, 205 senior SF (Northridge, Ca.) The hands-down top defender all week at Philadelphia University was the biggest all-star game snub. The Ron Artest-type was never afraid to dive on the floor for loose balls, defend the best player on the floor regardless of position, and his defensive intensity was contagious on the floor. No slouch on the offensive end, the French born player possessed solid ball handling skills as evidenced by him running the point at various times. His good athletic ability coupled with his college-ready body made him hard to stop whenever he drove to the basket. Under the radar heading into camp, UCLA and many other designer colleges will be inquiring about his services after his stellar three-day performance." From nbadraft.net: Guy Landry-Edi is the player who's stock has risen the most. In fact, the French-born Edi garnered interest from UCLA with his hard-nosed defensive efforts and blazing athleticism. The 6-foot-7 wing player has also established himself hands-down as the top defender. He's willing to defend any player at any position and hold them at bay to help his team earn the victory. |

I have read all of that previously and still doesn't mean squat. Players worth a scholarship are signed by some team in the spring signing period at some
level. All it takes is one bogus writer to say UCLA is recruiting him or "inquiring" about his services and its all over the internet like it is a
fact. We have seen this first hand with Floyd and his payment. You should know from following USC football that countless players say that USC has offered them
or is recruiting them when in fact USC doesn't even have them on their radar. It happens every year.
This is what we know: Even after all those "glowing" reviews, he was not recruited hard by any major school or mid-major school. A player doesn't wait until July to make a college decision if he has scholarship offers unless you are Lance Stephenson and school are running away from you. UCLA hasn't recruited him, Arizona hasn't recruited him, USC didn't recruit him until they lost out on other players and wanted Evan Smith before him. At this point, USC needs players and he seems to fit the KO mold, but lets not for a second think we are getting a UCLA/ PAC10 quality player. |

What school was it that you scout for again? | #5

Kids that have raw talent dont always get scholies. Guy is raw and USC certainly has plenty of scholies to give out, and Guy appears worth taking a chance on,
rather than some others. There aren't a lot of guys beating on the door because of the circumstances.
Grades could also have been an issue. But then again I dont know him like you do, so Ill just wait and see because Im an optimistic kind of guy.

Was there any concern by schools about him qualifying academically | #6

Just a thought as he was attending Stoneridge. If so, this could have a been an early recruitment factor. I surmise and know nothing as fact.

Not sure where I saw it, but I believe he was having trouble qualifying...and teams thought he would not be available until next year.
To be clear...that is not a fact...just a theory/report I came across sometime in the last couple months... |

According to Wolf and he estimates the chances at 50-50
Landry UpdateI keep getting asked about whether guard-forward Guy Landry of Stoneridge Prep will attend USC in the fall. As of right now, he has not been offered a
scholarship and there are also some academic issues he needs to sort out, which is not unusual if he is going to Stoneridge Prep.
