I think most agree that Dixon is the one possibility that can instantly change the negative perception of USC basketball. In fact, he's the only one.
He has family ties to the university and the region, has a great national reputation, and for Dixon this is probably his best shot to get back home. Howland is going nowhere and we're the only other game in town.
Can or will USC pony up $3-$3.5 million for 7-10 years to get him?
USC will have to overpay, pay Pitino type money to get him.
If we chose to do so a Dixon hiring at those numbers will show USC is serious about basketball. Anything else and we're back to being a middle of the road Pac 10 team.
