If Jones is out this makes sense and I hope they didn't burn that bridge. He can hold the fort until Gerrity is available and can be a transition player
to the class of 2010.
None of this is by any means "good" but it is what it is. |

Kinda was waiting for this shoe to drop. Personally, I'd like to see Donte and Mamadou return, simply because I'm tired of watching players leave the
program.

Agree w/you and as the OP said, it will be nice to see them graduate. We recruited them and it would be great to see them make it to Senior Day and graduate--seems only right to me. |

It should be an interesting summer. Hopefully, the bleeding stops soon.
If this is true, hopefully Donte can show everyone why he was recruited at the high-major level. |

What happens if Donte decides he does not want to stay and Momo leaves? Who will run point until Gerrity becomes eligible? Simmons, Romeo??

Wetherell would be the best option. In his limited time that he was able to play, he at least showed an ability to bring the ball up the court. He's
going to be a 4th year junior and it seems that he at least has a grasp of how to play the point guard spot, which I don't think anyone else on the roster
has right now. But does he have a jumper? Also, he might struggle defensively because of his lack of size.
Anyhow, things aren't looking too good..... |

My guess is that he hasn't been playing that long. My guess is that he has only about 4 years experience and played a lot more soccer than basketball. My
guess is that last year he put on about 20-25 lbs of muscle with conditioning. My guess is that this year he will put on another 15 lbs. He has the wingspan
of a U-2 and this year he will see some minutes. Donte just didn't develop as he and everybody hoped. I think he will. Word was that he could nail shots
in practice and was very sound. My guess is that he needs to get minutes and his decision to go to a school with more playing time was probably the right one.
He has an opportunity to get those minutes now.

Diarra has potential. He is very athletic and is a good shot blocker and rebounder. He just needs to get better offensively. I've seen him play in
scrimmages and practices, I think he just needs the opportunity.
Smith had a disappointing season last year. He sat out a year which hurt him a lot. Hopefully, if he decides to come back to USC, he can really work hard this summer and refine his shot. |

I haven't seen Diarra practice. But, I hear that he has bad feet, poor B'ball IQ, and doesn't know how to use his body. At best, he can contribute
5-10 minutes a game without hurting us.

..he's raw but he laos played well at times in the summer league. In one half he had somehting like 3 blocks, 7 boards and 8 points. He sint polished but
he could be much better than Ndiaye IMO.
