Don't know if this was mentioned yet but the Scout USC site is reporting that he signed a letter of intent today. Who knows how accurate their info is
though since they don't have Derrick Williams signing a LOI.

From what I've been told he has in fact signed a letter of intent to play at SC. I haven't seen him play since SC's Elite Camp in 07, when he
played well against the current team.
He will be playing at a local all-star game in two weeks that I will film. Here is an article on Smith: Smith is a Good One

Mike Roll was a very good high-school player - Evan Smith doesn't even dominate at the high school level. If USC was looking for a role player,
O'Connor, who was the City Player of year, would have been a better option.
Offering Smith and giving Gerrity a ride are two very perplexing moves by Floyd. |

What position does he play? And with the needs that we have i.e. a back up point guard why is he getting a scholarship?
Also, you use to be able to sign a letter of intent with out receiving a full scholarship but maybe that is no longer the case. As precious as these scholarships are and with the needs we have I am really scratching my head on this one. |

I have seen him play couple of times this year. Hope he is just a preferred walk on. |
