I think I was refering to Jamere Holland. He was not released from LOI but rather transferred after a redhirt frosh year. I recall hearing that PC did not want to release (meaning that the player would have to sit out two years per PAC 10 rule rather than one year per NCAA rule) but that PC was overruled by a hearing. Holland only sat one year.

I'm not a big fan of slavery. I also don't like the NCAA and believe the decision to admit mediocre academic institutions like U of A and ASU into the Pac 8 was a mistake. What is done is done.
